Вперше презентація виставки відбулась в Zoom на платформі онлайн студії «Діє-Слово».

В заході взяли участь члени іванківської єврейської громади – вихідці із Іванкова.

Особливими гостями презентації стали Неля Григорович – замісниця голови єврейської общини, яка написала книгу по єврейській історії Іванкова та вчителька історії школи №2 міста Іванків – Галина Дубинська, яка цього року разом з учнями готувала відео  про іванківське єврейське кладовище.

Матеріал готувався для конкурсу від організації «Європейська ініціатива щодо захисту та збереження єврейських кладовищ». Галина розповіла, що планує і надалі брати участь в історичних проектах разом із учнями, тому для неї виставка була особливо цікавою.

Особливими для іванківців були історії про вихідців села Сидоровичі: Нехемію Рабіна – батька Іцхака Рабіна і Хаїма Хазаза – єврейського романіста, який написав багато книг івритом. Цікаво, що назва однієї з його книг перекладається українською як «В лісовому селищі». Письменник провів своє дитинство в лісах, поряд із своїм рідним селищем, і в цій книзі є багато описів єврейсько-українського життя своєї Батьківщини, тому ця книга цікава як і в біографічному, так і в краєзнавчому контексті.

Іще одна історія, про яку написані книги, як її називає Клавдія Колеснікова: історія «двох крил одного кохання». В Іванкові похована жінка засновника морського флоту Ізраїлю Ар‘є Баєвського – Хейга Подільська. Він – російський дворянин, вона – київська гімназистка сіоністських поглядів, зустрілись після еміграції в Ерец Ізраель, пара одружилась, і народилась дівчинка Шуламіт. Через 10 років Хельгу із дочкою було депортовано британським мандатом за політичні погляди, і з того часом вона ні вона, ні дочка Шуламіт не бачилась із Ар‘є.

Багато розповіла про свою маму та дідуся Ірина – дочка Шуламіт. Вона була присутня на зустрічі і поділилась мрією – Ірина хоче відвідати могилу дідуся на Оливковій горі, а ще попрацювати в Інституті Жаботинського, де є багато матеріалів про її дідуся  – Ар‘є Баєвського.

Глядачам відізвались історії їх земляків, і кожен з них виніс з презентації щось особисто для себе.

“Я працюю в бібліотеці, і мені цікаво все, що стосується  історії мого краю, по-друге тому, що тут йшлася розповідь про відомих людей Ізраїля вихідців з України, і саме Сидорович, оскільки моя мама теж народилась в селі Сидоровичів. Мені було дуже приємно і цікаво провести ці дві години разом з Вами. У Вас гарно вийшло, Ви молодець!».

«Я думаю, що це дуже гарний початок. Це перша  наша зустріч і я думаю, що наші зустрічі будуть продовжуватись, я дуже сподіваюсь на це, тому що це дуже важливо  і за все це Вам велика дяка, за Вашу ініціативу, за Вашу  роботу і шкода, що так мало часу – тільки дві години».

Саме такі відгуки почули організатори від учасників зустрічі.

Проєкт проводить Регіональна асоціація єврейських організацій малих міст України у співробітництві з Сіоністською федерацією України та Ваадом України у співробітництві зі Студією «Діє-Слово».

Виставка розроблена Сіоністською федерацією України у партнерстві з Інститутом юдаїки, Київ, у 2018 році до 70-річчя Держави Ізраїль.

Проєкт проводиться за підтримки Голландського гуманітарного фонду.

Since its inception, the State of Israel has been surrounded by bitter enemies, whose main goal was to destroy the Jewish state. These enemies are full of hatred and are irreconcilable. However, Israel has proven many times that it can handle the toughest of challenges.

On May 7, after the end of prayer on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, Palestinian believers threw stones at the Israeli security forces. In return,  rubber bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas were used. After that, the militants of the Hamas organization, which controls the Gaza Strip, began firing rockets into Israel.

Over the past three days, Palestinian militants have fired about 1,600 rockets from the Gaza Strip towards Israel.

In these difficult moments, we recall the wise words of Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir:

1. I will never forgive the Arabs for making our children learn to kill them.

2. Our destiny cannot and will not be determined by others.

3. Peace in the Middle East will come when Arabs will love their children more than they hate Jews.

ZFU expresses condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to all wounded.

We express our confidence that this time the country, which is one of the ten most developed countries in the world, and its army – the Israel Defense Forces – one of the most battle-hardened armies, will not only withstand but will win a crushing victory over the insidious enemy. The sirens will stop whining, and life will return to normalcy once again.

We hope for the support of the international community, for the decisive action of the leaders of the European countries and the United States, whose diplomatic efforts will help secure peace in the Middle East.

Держава Ізраїль з моменту свого створення перебуває в оточенні найлютіших ворогів, головною  метою яких є знищення Єврейської держави. Вороги сповнені ненависті і непримиренні.

Але Ізраїль багато разів доводив, що може впоратися з найважчими викликами.

7 травня після закінчення молитви на Храмовій горі в Єрусалимі віряни-палестинці закидали камінням силовиків. Ті застосували гумові кулі, світлошумові гранати та сльозогінний газ. Після цього бойовики організації ХАМАС, яка контролює Сектор Гази, здійснили ракетні обстріли Ізраїлю.

За останні три дні палестинськими бойовиками руху ХАМАС із території Сектору Гази у бік Ізраїлю було випущено близько 1600 ракет. Протистояння продовжується.

У ці важкі хвилини для всього Ізраїлю ми згадуємо мудрі слова прем’єр-міністра Ізраїлю Голди Меїр:

1. Я ніколи не пробачу арабам то, що вони змусили наших дітей вчитися їх вбивати.

2. Наша доля не може бути і не буде визначена іншими.

3. Світ на Близькому Сході настане тоді, коли араби будуть любити своїх дітей сильніше, ніж вони ненавидять євреїв.

СФУ висловлює співчуття рідним і близьким загиблих, бажає якнайшвидшого одужання всім постраждалим.

Ми висловлюємо впевненість, що і в цей раз країна, яка входить в десятку найбільш розвинених країн світу, а її армія – Армія оборони Ізраїлю – є однією з найбільш загартованих в боях армій, не просто вистоіть, а здобуде переконливу перемогу над підступним ворогом. Перестануть гудіти сирени, і життя ввійде в звичну колію.

Також ми сподіваємося на підтримку міжнародної спільноти, на активні дії лідерів країн Європи і США, чиї дипломатичні зусилля допоможуть встановити мир на Близькому Сході.

In October 2020 the 38^th World Zionist Congress took place. Due to the pandemic it was held for the first time in online format.

Ukraine was represented by five delegates:

Alice Rostovtseva, World Confederation of United Zionists

Rabbi Reuven Stamov, Merkaz

Nikolay Fayengold, Yisrael Beitenu

Оleksandr Gaydar, Arzenu

Michael Tkach, representative of the Likud party.

In 2015 Ukraine was represented by 7 delegates, but because of the changes in the constitution of WZO, the distribution of the delegate seats by the countries has also changed.

Besides comprising with 2015, when the delegates for the congress were c by the democratic elections, in 2020 in spite of the good preparation and full readiness of executive directorate of ZFU for the process, the elections were not held.

It was prevented not so much by a difficult epidemic situation in the world, but by the lack of willingness from some Israeli leaders of the movements to contribute to the electoral process.

Negotiations did not led to the expected result so the distribution of seats was determined by agreement by which representatives of the movements Mizrachi and Meretz renounced their applies for delegate seats from Ukraine.

Nevertheless, Ukrainian delegation successfully participated in the Congress.

On December 8 an online meeting “British Imperialism and creation of the Jewish State” was held. It was tributed to the anniversary of UN resolution on the creation of the Jewish state on the territory of Mandatory Palestine at November 29, 1948.
At the meeting a research fellow from Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem, historian and tour guide Yehiel Fishzon told about a controversial role of British political elite in creation of the hearth for Jewish people in the Middle East.
The meeting was held at online studio “Limonad- S” in the frameworks of the project “Ukraine in the Zionist World” providing by the Zionist Federation of Ukraine since October 2020 with the support of Department of Diaspora Affairs in WZO in collaboration with Vaad of Ukraine and Certificate program in Jewish Studies.

The meeting was held within the framework of the final meeting of the Zionist conference “Aleph-Bet” organized by the Zionist Federation of Ukraine in partnership with Tavrida National V.I. Vernadsky University. The conference turned to online format in connection with the epidemic.           

As the honored guests of the conference were the Chief Rabbi of the Religious Association of Communities of Progressive Judaism of Ukraine Alexander Dukhovny, Rabbi of the Community of Progressive Judaism in Odessa Yulia Gris, Co-President of the Vaad of Ukraine Josef Zissels and others.

Theodor Herzl creating the World Zionist Organization, sought to implement the idea of ​​the return of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel. Over the time, the directory of the World Zionist Organization (WZO) got the new tasks. Today, WZO pays attention not only to issues of repatriation, but also supports the Jewish communities of the Diaspora.

Gusti Braverman told in detail in her presentation about how the ties between Israel and the Diaspora are being strengthened, and how the WZO contributes to this process.

Gusti Braverman noted with regret that in the light of the Arab-Israeli conflict and various political discussions, the concept of Zionism in some countries is acquiring a negative connotation. One of the tasks of the WZO is to expose fakes that related to Arab-Israeli relations in the mass media of European countries in order to form a worthy image of the State of Israel outside its borders.

In the second part of the presentation, Ms. Gusti spoke about the programs that the department entrusted to her deals with. One such program is the project  called Ivision, which provides online sessions on various topics related to Jewish culture.

Acquaintance with the head of the WZO department did not leave the audience indifferent. Gusti Braverman was asked many questions, some of which were answered directly by the speaker during the lecture, and the rest of answers the participants received by e-mail.

The post Head of the Department of Diaspora Affairs at the World Zionist Organization Ms. Gusti Yehoshua-Braverman held an online presentation for a Ukrainian audience first appeared on Zionist Federation of Ukraine.

The Club members missed communication without Zoom, live conversation, live smiles.

Of course, it would be more customary to get together in class, but because of the quarantine measures in Ukraine and Kiev, this is not yet possible.

The first topic of the fifth season has traditionally been the discussion of the past summer. Usually, the participants enthusiastically talked about their trips abroad, about their impressions of what they saw in before unfamiliar countries, and today the conversation was about what plans were interfered with by quarantine, and about how everyone had to adapt their life and their rest to new, before unusual circumstances.

The participants agreed that everything is passing, that everything will still improve, and life will once again sparkle with bright colors.

The initiator and program manager Elena Zaslavskaya notes:

“When we opened the first Club in Kiev in 2016, my assistant Elena Bondarenko and I were very worried that it wouldn’t be a success – where we would find people who would want to talk, at what level all this would happen, how to keep people in the Club…It was very difficult. But today, opening the fifth season, I can say that this idea has taken root, that many have followed our example – now there are Hebrew Speaking Clubs not only here (and we work in five cities – Kiev, Lviv, Melitopol, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi), but also in different cities, different communities.

In August 2019, the Tavrida National V.I. Vernadsky University at the meeting of the Academic Council put his stamp on the guidelines for the work of the Hebrew Speaking Clubs. So, thanks to our moderators from Melitopol and Chernivtsi, as well as the bachelor of Hebrew, the moderator of the Kiev Club Ksenia Erofeeva, the compiler of guidelines, our Club has become an academic program. 

By the way, already in the second week of quarantine, the Clubs successfully switched to work in Zoom.

The club in each city has its own direction, its own peculiarities, for example, we could not even imagine that the Hebrew Speaking Club, according to our own method, can be held with older students. Today the moderator of the Club in Kharkiv Diana Kalashnikova perfectly copes with this task. Unlike Kharkiv, the Melitopol Club is more likely to work with people who are mostly over 50 years old. We are constantly developing, inventing new forms of work, we do not stand still, and this progress gives us strength and inspiration”.

Jewish community it is not always about Israel. However, when we use the term “diaspora,” we mean that there is a specific country of origin. Involvement in the Jewish community inside the Jewish state or outside of its borders – is there a fundamental difference?

On September 8, our speaker Gusti Yehoshua-Braverman will talk about how the relations between Israel and the Diaspora are developing today.

Gusti Yehoshua-Braverman is Head of the Department of Diaspora Affairs in the World Zionist Organization(WZO).
Previously, she served as the Associate Director of the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism.

Ms. Yehoshua-Braverman has a B.A. in Social Work and M.A. in Communications, both from the Hebrew University.

Gusti is a member of the WZO Executive, member of the Jewish Agency Board of Governors (BOG) and chair of the Small Jewish Communities committee in the BOG. Serves as a board member of the Poultry Council in Israel, Ayelet – The Federation of Non-Olympic Sport in Israel, board member of the National Council to Commemorate Herzl, board member of Ladaat – Choose Well, the organization for the promotion of sexual health and education and is an active volunteer in other organizations.

Member of the Board of Kehilat Mevaseret Zion (KAMATZ) of the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism (IMPJ).

Since mid-2019, the Zionist Federation of Ukraine has been actively preparing for the democratic elections of delegates, but the electoral process was prevented by the coronavirus epidemic, which did not allow the electoral process to be held to the extent required.

In 2015, Ukraine had 7 delegate mandates, but changes in the Constitution and the rules of the WZO, which came into force in 2019, did not allow our country to retain all delegate seats.

Despite two claims to the Zionist court and the active assistance of the federation partners, the Ukrainian delegation has only five mandates left.

According to the agreement reached between the movements on August 20, 2020, Ukraine will be represented at the 38th World Zionist Congress by:

Olexander Gaidar, Arzenu,

Reuven Stamov, Merkaz,

Mykhailo Tkach, World Likud Movement,

Alisa Rostovtseva, World Confederation of United Zionists,

Mykola Fayengold, World Beytenu Movement.

Currently, the Executive Directorate of the Zionist Federation of Ukraine continues to actively work on the development of programs and projects of the federation, the main activity direction of which is educational.  

Executive Director of the ZFU Elena Zaslavskaya notes:

We were completely ready to hold democratic elections of delegates to the Congress, but the epidemic did not allow us to do so.

The fact is that the average age of members of the Jewish community is more than 50 years, many of them are not familiar with Internet technologies, so a vote by mail was provided for them. And it would be imprudent to invite older people to the post office and put them in danger.

At the same time, the development team created a unique system for holding electronic voting, which we plan not to close, but to use in our projects.

В он-лайн режиме в течение марта, апреля и мая 2020 года была проведена большая часть докладов, запланированных для Конфренции.

Формат он-лайн дал возможность спикерам без ограничения во времени подробнее высветить темы и ответить на все вопросы слушателей. Каждый эфир сохранен в записи. Доступность мероприятий позволила значительно расширить аудиторию и пригласить к участию слушателей, проживающих далеко ща пределами Киева: сегодня слушательскую аудиторию составляют представители разных городов Украины, Израиля и не только.

Слово «сионизм», истинный смысл которого был до неузнаваемости искажен советской пропагандой, до сих пор вызывает недоверие у старшего поколения и прохладное равнодушие у молодежи. Имея минимум достоверной информации в украиноязычном и русскоязычном информационном поле,  все, кому становится интересная эта тема, в большинстве своем пользуются упрощенными стереотипами и ложными представлениями об этом понятии.

Миссия конференции «Алеф.Бет – Сионизм» – рассказать о истинном занчении слова «сионизм», о событиях, которые предшествовали созданию государства Израиль, и о том, какую роль в этом сыграли выходцы из украинских земель в том числе.

Программа конференции составлена таким образом, чтобы дать возможность всем, кому интересна эта тема, познакомиться с разными сторонами известных исторических событий и составить свое мнение, полагаясь на фактические материалы.

Для этого в роли спикеров для участия в конференции были приглашены ученые и общественные деятели из разных стран – Израиля, Украины, европейских стран, а в ходе проведения встреч материал был подан доступно, с подробным освящением общего контекста.

Платформой для проведения эфиров стала онлайн-студия «Limonad-S». Исполнительная дирекция СФУ при поддержке отдела диаспоры Всемирной сионисткой организации в сотрудничестве с Таврическим национальным университетом им. В.И. Вернадского и Ваадом Украины запустила работу студии ровно к началу конференции. Своим названием студия ссылается на популярную фразу, взятую из книги Дейла. Карнеги: «Если судьба преподносит тебе лимон, делай из него лимонад». Это выражение как нельзя лучше характеризует создавшуюся в мире ситуацию, когда единственным выходом из положения стала необходимость кардинальной перестройки сознания в первую очередь, а потом и действий, направленных на успешной проведение проектов и программ в новых непривычных условиях.

Как показывает время и опыт последних месяцев, вынужденная адаптация к новым условиям дала новый неожиданный импульс, и проект выиграл за счет расширения географии слушательской аудитории, возможности приглашения новых спикеров, а также за счет возможности более широкой популяризации заявленных идей.

На данный момент он-лайн студия «Limonad-S» продолжает свою работу, приглашает новых спикеров и проводит другие интересные онлайн-встречи. Сегодня студия «Limonad-S» имеет свою постоянную слушательскую аудиторию, которая увеличивается от лекции к лекции. 

В качестве вывода можно отметить, что проект успешно приспособлен к работе в новых условиях, но несмотря на это в рамках конференции «Алеф. Бет – Сионизм» все равно пока предусмотрены оффлайн-встречи, проведение которых запланировано после окончания карантина.
