International Conference “Aleph-Bet. Zionism” Goes Online

Organizers of the event – the ZFU, the Vaad of Ukraine and Tavrida National University of V. I. Vernadsky decided to hold some of the meetings online due to the quarantine.

The event marks the start of the election of delegates from the Jewish community of Ukraine to the 38th World Zionist Congress.
The Jewish community of Ukraine is holding such elections for the second time, and is the second-largest community in the world after the US, where democratic elections are held for delegates, not the distribution of mandates.

The very word “Zionism” still evokes fear, fear, distrust in many people born during the Soviet Union, and most of those born after the collapse of the Union and the upheavals do not know the true meaning of this concept and the depth of the historical events associated with it.

On-line reports will feature:
March 29 at 5:00 pm – Zeev Khanin, Professor of the Master’s Degree Program in Israeli Studies and Judaism, Ariel University,
April 1, 2020 at 5:00 pm – Lyudmila Pavlenko, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of World History and International Relations at Taras Shevchenko National University Chernihiv College,
April 9, 2020 at 5:00 pm – Master of Judaica Elena Stamova.

The program also includes reports from Josef Zissels, co-president of Vaad Ukraine, Dr. Nadiya Ermakova from Ariel University, and others.

The schedule is being updated.
